Lurch,

I think PP is too soft for casting conventionals.

You're better off using a firmer coated line like Spiderwire Stealth (which is essentially reformulated Berkley Whiplash) if you want to cast with a revolving spool reel.

PP in the heavier line tests (above 30 lb) is good on conventionals for BOAT applications where you're not casting.

The lighter stuff is good on spinners.

In any case, if you're stuck with the power pro, pull the line off, take that line, dunk it in a bucket of water, and then WET-PACK the line back onto your spool.
