There are people who don't listen when asked to cool their heels and put aside whatever personal dislikes they may have for another member here. So, they decide to flame, and since all of the mods here have jobs and can't baby sit all day, sometimes threads have to be parked for a spell, out of view, until they can be pruned.

And sometimes, someone decides to be the bigger man in a developing pissing contest and asks that the thing be moved to Thread Purgatory, for the "greater good".

The stuff on this site is getting out of control!
Too much hate and jelousy going on.
I like to post pix of fish because some guys ,as I do, like to see what others are catching, it encourages me to fish harder. Unfortunately, some idiots hate you for it out of jelousy or whatever.. I have no use for those people. I've met a bunch of good guys that I consider friends from this site and I enjoy BSing, and fishing with them at the Leg's and other events that John works hard to put together. John and the mods do a good job keeping the crap off the site, which there shouldn't be any of to begin with. I think he created this site in the first place for guys who like to fish for Stripers to have a place to communicate with others who have the same addiction.
Do you think he feels like weeding thru posts to get all the crap out? I don't think that was his intention, nor should he have to deal with it.
I think I'm thru posting pix, I never thought it would cause the problems it does.
Can't we all just get along?

Dave

There are a couple of good points made in the posts in this thread. Although I am not part of this nonsense that has been taking place....and the offenders know who they are... I'd like to add my 2 cents.
I know #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& and fish with him on occasion. We have become friends and spent a few nights "hopping rocks".
The fact of the matter is that the guy is hugely successful at what he does. Anytime someone is good at what they do they will become a target for a small group of jealous, self centered individuals that hate to see success. It's the "faster gun" syndrome. The malcontents want to be the "faster gun". They can't seem to stand anyone being better at what they are not.

Before the internet this stuff was all word of mouth. It always happened around the end of Summer because they guys who are not hardcore are "s#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g wind". August can be a real tough month to find quality Bass in the surf. The guys that continue to catch large, who put their time in and crawl the rocks night-in and night-out, continue to catch. The "wanna be's" bad mouth these guys because they haven't a clue as to what they are doing. Bill's only mistake is he is too open about his successes.
My guess is that you will not see a lot of "The #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&" on this board for awhile.

No boat, back in the suds.

If that's true, I for one, will miss his posts and pictures.

People always say others are jealous of #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& or Frank D. or R. Johnson or whomever.
But you dont hear that trash talking about people like S. McKenna, Iron Mike, T. Chirrapo or Cowhunter. Most are genuinely happy for their successes.
Jealousy is an excuse to mask the truthful fact, you get what you give. And that trancends fishing
Food for thought

All this post editting is getting a little rediculous. Someone sends a cheap shot at another guy and its left on just long enough so word gets out and they hear about it. Then the post is then edited or deleted to cover up for the person who did it. I know a lot of guys are getting tired of this, and many who used to openly contribute to the board have now stopped. We all know whats going on whether posts are edited or not.

Yikes! When I posted this inquiry re the missing #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& post, I only wanted to know what the fish weighed ( wasn't mentioned). Didn't mean to open another wound.

You think this is easy, rizzo? Babysitting some of you guys (not intended at you personally)? I edit judiciously. You know, there are 6 of us who do this. As far as I know, all 6 of us have full time jobs. Sometimes a post does stay up far too long before it gets pulled. You know why that is? It's not because any of us are covering anyone's ass. It's because we're efiin' busy earning a living, and checking in when we have spare time.

It used to be, we hardly ever had to edit because most folks here behaved themselves. It used to be this board could run with just John, Saltheart and Slip having the keys. Now we have 6 moderators and even with the 3 extra sets of hands, things get out of hand. I particularly resent your saying we either don't edit or pull threads to cover someone's ass. We pull them because the pissing and flaming detracts from the quality of the site, makes it less newbie-friendly, and drives more old timers away than anything else.

If you're tired of the editing, and you know that others are, either accept it and get used to it, or lurk, or go elsewhere, or do whatever you like. Because it's going to continue until this site returns to being a place where guys feel comfortable asking a question without having to worry about some wise-ass torching them, or where guys who don't like each other in real life trade cyberjabs.
