Do you guys think that there was a time when there was a big run of salmon up the bay(narr) to the river? I'm talking like 1800's maybe?
I wish they could get the atlantic salmon re-established. They have been trying for long enough. There have been signs on wood river since I was a kid (20 years ago).

actually it was proof to the crew that I am nuts . It was cemented when they realized I wasn't carrying a shotgun and would leave the group and walk 1/4 mile up river searching for bigger kings . I pretended that there were no grizzlies around , but there were .
I also found a whooly mammouth tooth ( over 10,000 years old ) while beach combing on norton sound .
