Don't forget a razor

Happened to me four nights ago. Believe me if the barb is big like on a 4/0 treble it does not want to push through. I got the point through easily enough but not the barb. While pushing on it I touched the skin over the barb with a razor. It made a small slit and the barb popped through.

So, have a razor or very sharp knife too in addition to cutters.

I've used the snatch method a couple times, just make sure the barb is aligned the way it went in before you try to snatch the hook out.

Oh man...ouch

I have been poked a few times, but I am wondering when you most likely get a hook so deep?

Usually when your tired and let down your guard when unhooking a fish.

One other point, if the hook ends up in the back of your hand better get to a Doc for removal. If it happens to penetrate a hand tendon you can loose motion in your hand and or fingers.

Angry damn cat

one day....i came home from work and found that my cat had got into my fresh water tackle box and had played with all of the lures that smelled fishy i'm sure...and had them spread all over the spare room carpet... after a few choice words for the cat i picked them all up and put them all away... all except for one.... it was hidden in the folds of a green small parachute which i use to camoflage a vehicle
when i have to park in a restricted (unsafe)area.... well to make a long story shorter ...i picked up the parachute and was twirling it extremely fast trying to make it rolled up....and whamo i found the missing plug
and it was now deeply buried in my right palm...so deep that i ended up having to go to the Hospital to have it removed.

Now a days,, it doesn't matter where you go... it seems like everyone is wearing jewelery on their lips, nose, face ect... just leave the hook in place if in the face ....Its in style and looks great .
