I'm working on several artricles right now, for various publications on the plight of the eels. basically there are two reasons for their sharp decline, one is overfishing and other is the dams that block their upsteam and downstream movements. No one knows which is more devastating, but both are very harmful. Eels are pursued by fishermen at almost every stage of their life cycle. Its a very intriguing life cycle at that, if you don't knwo about it, I'll type it out for you.
