I've actually had trouble putting new cutters in on the Accurates. The cutters seem to be VERY hard to line up perfectly which makes them not cut braid like they did when they were new. They look right, but they don't cut well.

Unless I'm doing something wrong or I suddenly discover the secret to make them cut like new, I'm advising customers to send them back. Abel really prefers customers send their pliers back, as does Van Staal. You can get both companies to send you jaws if you push them a bit, but don't expect like new performance afterwards.

Another update from Orvis.

I inquired further about the Orvis replacement carbide blades for the Pliers and they clarified that they do not sell replacement blades outright, but kindof like Pete said above about the VS and Abel, if you need new blades for the pliers send the pliers in to Orvis and they'll replace them.

Sounds better now...

Any flexing issues with these? How are the cutters? I'm thinking of ordering a pair.

I picked up a pair from the Edge a couple of weeks ago and so far I am very satisfied. They cut braid well and removing from deeply hooked fish is a breeze. Only time will tell how durable they are.

I'm gonna order a set. $129.00 isn't bad for titanium. $250.00 for VS's is ridiculous.
