I only met him briefly in the exercise room after the TCTFFN this year, and as nearly as I could define the man, I thought he was a combination of : 1 part Sgt Schultz, 1 part Ernest Hemingway, and 1 part Mr. French.

Fishing is a... discipline in the equality of men - for all men are equal before fish. ~Herbert Hoover

Did the old man of the sea fish in all conditions especially the worst just to catch the fish?

I was thinking Chris Elliot in "cabin Boy" or Rodney Dangerfield in "get your Bass in here woman!"

Shark's in the water.....our shark.

The worst day fishing is better than the best day working. ...Wait a minute, my work IS fishing. Sweet.

Damn straight, I'm going to keep that tuna I'll never catch from the beach.
Sure, some will scoff, "Hypothetical poachers - they're the worst."
Let them talk - I'm willing to pay the price in friends I'll never make and good times I'll never have with people who never liked me beforehand.
