I couldn't stand PP on the conventional, for the reasons you mentioned.
But then again, if you're casting as hard as you can...that could be the issue as well!

Nope; had problems with PP on my VS250, but I have it on a 525Mag, and it's behaving great; I was tossing 3.5oz jigs into the wind sat. night and had no problems, and I canth throw much harder than that!

Well maybe I should have said it differently, like harder than normal
I never throw as hard as I can, I hate throwing plugs to China

I know this one ... fish rocks 80% of time..I'm loving Berkley Ironsilk....30lb. test .021,,, stuff is tougher than any mono I've used in the rocks.. its wierd ..not stiff ,,very limber stuff,, when u tie a knot it looks like fly line..I have it on a 7500 nautil on a lami triflex.. throw yozuri darters, red fins. loaded ,, 17a bombers good plus all 2 and 3 ounce stuff ,, covering alot of bases here .. rienforced polymer they call it .. good rock line.. digging fireline for braid ... no more pp for me thank you..

Ditto what tagger says, except I like 14-17lb. Ironsilk on my 6500's and 30lb Fireline on my spinners.
