They said when the tide goes out tonight it will put extra pressure on the dam. This dam is holding back 6' of water.
If this dam goes they are worried about the next which is holding back 12' of water.

We are pretty much out of harms way, but because of where we are directly behind the firestation its a bit of an event. There is no road.. just my house, my front yard, a small fence, and then the firestation.

i drove by the taunton river a couple times over that last few days... high tide is pretty darn high without this.

WILL GO AHEAD AND UPDATE THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE WHITTENTON
DAM ON THE MILL RIVER. LOCAL OFFICIALS HAVE REPORTED THAT THE WATER
LEVEL HAS RECEDED BY 1 INCH OVER THE PAST FEW HOURS. HOWEVER...THE
DAM WILL HAVE TO BE WATCHED VERY CLOSELY OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS
BECAUSE IT STILL MAY FAIL AT ANYTIME. THIS REMAINS UNCERTAIN...BUT
IF THIS DAM FAILS WE ARE TOLD THAT IT WOULD RESULT IN CATASTROPHIC
FLOODING INTO PARTS OF TAUNTON.
