49" and 51 pounds??? C'mon those days are gone.... 49" bass now weighs about 37-41 pounds... case in point here is a 51 3/4 inch fish caught by redcrbbr last fall... care to guess the weight?

49" is right on the money 37-41# is a bad guess in this case.This fish has no belly but look at the shoulders.

it was 44 pounds. I'm not trying to take away from the impact of catching a fish like that I get excited everytime. But I wouldn't guess that fish is over 41 pounds, the last 49" fish I saw went 39# pounds and it was thicker than that one.
