the glue I've been using is called "weldwood" made by "dap",,it's a plastic resin glue,,,look's like fine lt. brown powered sugar,,all you do is add a few drop's of water till it turn;s into mudd///if you want it thinner, just add more water,,,what's great about the stuff is the fact that it's dark brown when cured and fills in any gaps or holes...sands to a power too, doesn;t turn to goo when it gets hot from sanding,,,,,been using it since 1969. they also make the same thing that's waterproof,,come's in two can's..one's the powder/one is cranberry colored liquid resin.////clamping time is as long as you want or as little as an hour, depending on how warm the room or air is.

through drilling is slow,,bird's eye/coco are very hard,,I only push the bit in maybe 3/8's of an inch then back off to clear the flute's and let cool. if you try to force it, the wood/bit get's too bloody hot..I've burned up one bit already....sanding the end grain is no different[turning is another] than your normal end to end grain...after roughly shaving to the shape you want, I then use 60 grit to finish the shape,,then 80 grit, then 220,then use the green scrubby pad's too polish.....it goes fast and doesnt take any longer to do than a normal plug/// well! maybe a minute longer.

most if not all exotic woods/cedars etc. have what look's like small little ball's with lot's of hook's attached to them...when inhailed they stick to your lung's like glue,,never to be gragged up again,,,but! I do beleive turning a pc. only now and again won't kill you...it's the people that use the stuff day in an day out may have a bigger problem with it.A good fan/vac/mask can't hurt if your going to make alot of pc's.///I keep a good clean filter in my lrg. shop vac and as stated before,,the hose is right on top of the wood and not 6-8" away.

BOAT fish do count.
