Slip, awesome job man... 50lb. amberjack, 70lb tarpon... can't wait to see the pics. Those are big fish anywhere. You wouldn't want to go down and get a super huge tarpon the first time... this trip will put the juice in you for the next time.

Think you'll go back?

My wife laughs at me 'cause I never wanted to go to Florida (she has family in Orlando and used to go to Disney alot growing up)... too darn hot, and I was anti-Disney. But I thought it would be cool for the kid to go see Mickey and I figured I could check out the fishing while down there. That was in September 2000... we just got flights for a trip back down in November for what will be our 4th trip in just over two years... and we'll probably go again in March or April. I'm obsessed... and ain't even seen the Keys yet...

I really like going when the weather and the fishing stink up here. It feels sweet to be out on the beach and the water when its coooollldddd up here.

I hope you're rested and relaxed and thank you for bringing some nice weather up with you. We all appreciate it. You picked a great stretch to go south as it had been pretty crappy up here.

Welcome back and congrats on your first POON!
