I talked to the guy down in Westport who builds the LYS's, he said that either or on the v hull was fine, my thought would be to go with the vhull but have the last 2 feet be absolutely flat (out of the vee) to reduce the power necessary to be on a plane.
Might make a ride a little bumpier but you save some fuel.
