Try going to Kenny Abrams' site www.stripermoon.com go to his "baitfish gallery" link. He's got many pics of live baitfish and other species in tanks of water, so you can see the natural coloration of LIVE, healthy fish. Coloration changes when a fish is unhealthy, dead, or even stressed. They have cells called chromatophores that allow them to change colors and patterns to match their surroundings or dispay their moods as communication.
