Holy hannah... just stopped by there for the first time last Wednesday! Lots of interesting stuff, and the salesguy didn't hassle me for spending all kinds of time window-shopping. (I'm a newbie, so I don't know what to buy, but I want to know what it looks like when I do. )

Some top-notch stuff there... Van Stahl reels and suchlike, and an antique wooden fishing pole. A real shame. Sorry this had to be my first post...

That's awful, I went there for the first time this year, great selection and knowledgable staff. I hope they will be back for next year.

What a Shame!! I hope the insurance covers everything. Lots of times they don't. I hope the people who work there can collect while its rebuilt? Too bad for everyone involved.

Driving back from Prov to SoCo Saturday night I saw it from Rt 4. Mike, his boys and his staff are good folks. If anybody will make a comeback, they will.

I was over there today and talked to Mike. He is doing ok and is planning to be ready for the spring. Not sure about the building yet , but he is thinking positive , and as Martha says "that's a good thing."

Thanks QLBT

This is just awful news. Steve is one of the most helpful guys in fishing, hands down. Dave and the kids there are great too. That was my favorite place to go -- not only was the location convenient but they always had what I needed and they were always, always, always willing to help with my random ass, newbie questions. Thanks for everything QLBT! Best of luck to you guys!!!

There will definitely be a spike for John's Tackle's sales down the street, though. Hope he can deal with all my annoying questions...

The smell of burning plugs always brings tears to my eyes.

Sorry to hear this and my prayers go out to the people that work there. Good luck

it was a good shop. i esp liked talking with steve who was always willing to share tips, tricks, and advice; and there was another guy there maybe in his late 50's who turned me on to a really great technique for casting my conventionnal that guys use in the distance competitions. got to wish them all well. i hope the rebuilding process is already in the works..
