I thought the Ball rasp had a rougher surface more for gouging out rough. These looked more like a larger version of an engraving tool for Dremels. I thought they were called something like a Burr

Just found these but they don't come in anything larger than 3/4"

They are about the same as a Burr. I have always refered to them as burrs when working in a metal shop.
I think the term ball rasp is correct in the wood working shop. I may be wrong.
I have a link but I do not know how to post it!

Charleston that is exactly what they are. The guy called me back today, From these guys the 1.25 is $37.25, the 3/4 and 1" are same price at $25.10 ea. They would be here first week of January.
I think this price is about borderline, I've seen some for many more $$ but seen some cheaper too. I know the quality is good on these and they run true which is a tough thing to do with these things so I'm happy with the price myself. The prices I got were for 25 of each size, the 1.25 size is going to be no problem but the smaller ones we will not make 25 of each so the price will be slightly higher.

I will leave it up to you guys what you want to do.

I can/will order them and can probably get flat rate boxes from usps to ship these. If I do this though I need to collect everyone's checks or whatever, I don't want to get stiffed for an extra 10 pieces etc.

Thumbs up

i'll take a 3/4 as well as the 1 1/4 i already spoke for scott. it seems like a fair price. if you think the tooling is good that's good enough for me.

Ok we just got the 25 pieces on the 1.25 so that's all set, I count 7 total for the 1" and 6 total for the 3/4". I'm gonna see if I can beat him up to give me the better price on the others too if I can.

I will get everything together this week and will post a page for paying/postage etc. I will hit the post office for the flat rate boxes I think that's probably the best way to send them all.

I would like to get one 3/4 " if I can still get in on the deal.

I would also need to know where to send payment.

Thank you very much for doing the research and leg work on these.

Eric.

If it's not too late, I'd be grateful to get in on this. I need 1 of each, 0.75, 1.00 and 1.25. Mine are making more smoke than sawdust these days.
Much Thanks
