BTW, the needle is maple and the popper is red cedar (I think). Lotta fun through drilling the maple needle when the fatest part is 5/8's.

 plugs. Like the needle shape. Always thought one like that, done in AYC, or other lighter wood, with the weight about 1/3 the way from the tail, weighed to sit just slightly tail down in the water would be a killer topwater plug (spook type thing). Then again, maybe thats cause I like topwater stuff  and suck with needles
