If you don't know the spot already there's nothing in that video that is going to lead you there. I don't know what the tv show is going to be like - I was not involved in that.
It's looking like eels will not be legal as bait in RI - I'm not sure if the word is official yet. Sluggos are going to be good sellers if they ban eels - that's why I invested in the video.

Joe, I wasn't saying the video was bad or good for that spot in the format you presented. If I didn't know where it was shot or didn't know the angler in it or had never fished it, I wouldn't even know what state it was in. Cool video none the less!

I have a confession.. I watch charlie moore's tv show just so i can see that awesome sluggo commercial.

I bet i am not alone

Joe, i would make a huge order now for those sluggos. I have a hunch they will be in short supply come august/sept.

They were in short supply last August September also. There were about 5 weeks when I could not get any.
So, yup - I will buy lots of Sluggos in advance....
There is not much money in selling Sluggos though...
Eels are what bring the surfcasters into the store - they'll buy other stuff when they are there, but if you snip out eels - you'll have a significant population that will be drastically reducing their visits.
RI's eel ban and MA's herring ban is going to really hurt the baitshops and have a significant impact on established methods. It's a disruptive event.

Joe, is there any way yet to buy just the Slug-go's in bulk? We all toss the stupid hooks out with the packaging. It's quite the waste.

No way to get the 9" Sluggos in bulk - nothing leaves the factory except in packages of three.

No price breaks for volume on my end either - that's how the Sluggo guy makes the big bucks.

The 9" baits with the factory packaging weigh 5.1oz, of that - only 3.6oz is the bait. There should be a more enviro-friendly way to package them for mail order places. Not only is the plastic heavy and large, it makes you have to ship the Sluggos in a big envelope or box. I plan on asking them if they would go for other packaging options.

And my wife thought I was a moron for freezing 40 eels at the end of the season

If theres a ban on sale you can still use what you have or buy out of state with a reciept. At least thats how it worked in CT for herring

Krispy, I was told if there is a ban it would be on possesing anything to do with eels, skins etc. Not sure anyways since it hasn't gone into effect.

T19, i think your right. You could buy landlocked herring in CT and keep the reciept, that I remember. But I think theres a difference in possesion and sale, I guess the wording of the ban will be very important

BTW, just watched the video, nice stuff. Great job on that Joe, I hope it pays off! I am amazed at the action of the sluggo under the water. I used a rigged sluggo a few times this year and it worked well for .When does the show debut on OTW? I'd like to see the whole thing.

I think the show is supposed to air in January - they usually post a schedule on the OTW website.
The video is nice, but the thanks goes to Mike Laptew. I had the idea of incorporating video, but I'm not technically capable or equipped to do what he does.

No Chef the links are good - so it must be you.

You may be behind a firewall - check your settings. It's a windows media file so it does not work for macs.
I ran it last night and the links were good.
