I buy the "T"shirt rag material at homies. I wipe the plugs especialy the eyes to be sure all skin oils are remover. That's it!

I wear one plastic glove on one hand,, like Mike,, handling plugs now..Bags of 50,, home cheapo,,no more turkey gravy or burger grease dripping from plugs prior to epoxy..

Ditto on the gloves. I wipe 'em clean with a soft rag and lightly buff with a green scotch pad before epoxy.

You have to watch what you buy when you do this. I got a bag o gloves and they had power in with them.
