Lurch,
The 2006 Expo is gonna make last year look like a toilet. The new location is truely one of the best facilities you will ever see a fishing show located. The cushioned chairs in the two Seminar Theatres are more comfortable than in my house. Speaking of Seminars, we are not running 60 seminars with any Cahrter Captain that wants a free booth, our seminar schedule features both nationally recognized celebrity fishermen and local experts covering the information our customers want to hear. Next to the concession stand there is a pretty large area set up with highbacked chairs, tall round lounge tables and even giant relaxing couches for the enjoyment of our customers that spend the day and hang out with old friends. A close circuit TV network will be running in the resting areas showing some really cool fishing programming. The whole floor is carpeted and will not wear you out after walking around for hours.
Two final points...MSBA is not looking to be another 300 booth monster of a show. We are only trying to bring the local fishing community the quality event our customers are used to. At the MSBA Expo you will not see hunting guides, chewing tobacco, miracle cleaners and absolutely no one is going to stick a tear off pad in your face and ask you if you want to win somethning. Ours is a fishing show, period, no fleece, no dishes, nothing but fishes.
finally, yes we are $15 dollars at the door, but when you add in the free parking we are right around the same prices as all of the other shows 0n the circuit. I hope you choose to come check out the future of fishing Shows in new england.

Are volunteers still free?
I look at it this way.
- MSBA Membership cost = $30.
- Show volunteers get in free, a $15 dollar value.
So I can support a great fishing club for a net cost of $15 for the year!

I agree that the cost will go up but will the vendor cost go up as well or is the cost just being passed on to us (the consumers)?? If the costs are higher for the vendors we could see less discoounts on sweet fishing equipment.
Personally I dont care that it is at Gilette but if the prices are lower at the kingston mall I would have stayed there....
dont get me wrong, I am going and it is going to be cool but was Gilette necessary??
Ill be honest, if I had 15$ to spend on one show it would be the MSBA show for sure!!
