Any idea what wood they used? I noticed some of the old Atom lips are bent up and the sides. Is this to create more roll?

Thanks Flap! Hopefully CS will see this and respond here as I am sure others would be interested too. If not, I'll PM him.

I had this discussion with Capesams about the bent up sides of the the lip. He says it is to help the lure from rolling. Pinchney did it also and so does Beachmaster. Hopefully Steve will elaborate.

bent sided lip= a VERY tight half roll w/ no tail wiggle,,,runs like a bomber/rebel type swimmer.fast side to side twisting action.like the bait is about to die and wants the h*** outta there.
not bent= a slow roll with a nice -s- wiggle to the tail..like it's on a sunday go to meeting stroll.

CS... any weight in the belly?... uh.. I've seen some do it..recommend , or is it an "as needed" thing... ones I've seen with the belly weight, appear to be nice tight grain pine.
