Frank, I read something by Woolner, I believe, about hooking the ends of the wire to a car battery to heat the rod and free it from the body. I have a small pile of Atome waiting on a battery form a few years ago. I just haven't scored a used car battery yet.

I did try an older atom junior on a battery cahrger once. This worked, but it took a while to get hot enough to free the wire.

I didn't realize they were oldies, I don't think touching the ends of the wires to the battery would be a big deal, I have a charger with the boost feature I bet that would work just fine, I thought good swivels were made from brass?
