I just went through this past November.
It's day surgery, but in my opinion, they should keep you in the hospital 1 or 2 days!
They put you under for the surgery, so you don't feel a thing!
The 1st few days it was pretty painfull, and I stayed in a recling chair for those 2 days.
They make 3 small cuts and put in a peice of screen mesh that your stomach lining will grow to.
Expect to take it easy for 6 weeks.
Worst thing was finding out that they had put a cathider in (and they removed it before I woke up) and they don't let you leave the hospital till you pee. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not yanking any chain here.
They told me no food or drink from 12:00 midnight the night before, and I made sure I had nothing fron about 9:00 the night before.
I didn't know they put the cathider in untill it was time to pee, ouch!!!
I yelled at the nurse afterward, she told me they put one in just in case.

Chef, there are several ways they can do it. Spinal, and ya don't feel a thing, iv sedative, out very light and go home that afternoon, or i guess general anesthesia. All depends on the type ya have. Don't put it off, it's really no big deal and your going to feel alot better. If ya have allergies you might wanna do it before spring. You don't wanna be sneezing during recoupe. Don't ask me how i know.
