Yep its coming...Islam is not the religion of peace like people claim. if it was then why all the Muslim riots and killings we see daily? If the world had any spine we'd confront these wackos before it gets worse and Iran gets a Nuke. The US and a few other countries are the only ones who see this problem and accually try and take them out. Why doesnt the rest of the world care?? Radical Islamists are the new Nazis...and the world sits back and watches it all and does nothing. Why?

I'm a Christian and i could care less what religion people practice. I have nothing against peaceful Muslim's but why is thier religion the root of some much hate in the world? What the hell is thier problem?

Skip, the Islamic leadership for the most part is calling for non-violent protests.

I think what we're seeing is a combination of Islamist manipulation exacerbating somewhat genuine anti-western rage that really has no other outlet. People are simply fed up with what they see as western aggression against Islam and failure of their own leaders.

You guys do realize that before 9/11 the more moderate muslim writers were talking about the global decline in Islamic fundamentalisim!

Perhaps if we started acting like the liberal democracy we say we are we can give the 3rd world something to look up to and avoid an epic confrontation. Yes, they're responsible for their own actions...but our LEADERSHIP can really influence things.

My fear is that the various radical muslims doomday sects in Iran could get too much power. They have their own version of Rapture in which the 12th Imam will save the world from a horrific global war.

They're predicting this in 2008

Hang on...

Your right as far as in the US goes. It's the leadership in the middle east countries that i'm concerned about. I think the leadership over there along with their governments are fueling most of this. And thats what scares me. the fact that this is accepted and encouraged.

I think if Iran keeps up thier attempts to make Nukes we will see some chit hit fan very soon. Neither the US or Isreal will allow Iran to posses a Nuke. Once Iran gets close to getting that nuke watch out. You will see alot of stuff falling from the sky over Iran and rightfully so. Otherwise Isreal will be wiped out by Iran as they have stated they want to do. Thsi is going to get real ugly. And yes we will see a pre emptive strike on Iran if they keep up thier current actions.

Spence, I seriously tried to keep an open mind on your post. But the reality is that muslims are rioting becasue newspapers posted cartoons of Muhammed. Nothing more. Is that Western agrression? WHat have the govts of Saudi Arabia said? Jordan? Indonesia?
NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHy cant they say, hey its none of our business people can post what they want, we muslims however know that true path of Allah blah blah blah. Its seems that there is a constant undercurrent to your thoughts that the US or west is really bad and the terrorists and fanatical muslims really do have a point. Someone made Kuwiat and Saudi Arabia the richest kingdoms in the world, we aint stealin that oil..........

The consistant undercurrent to my thoughts is called...

P-R-A-G-M-A-T-I-S-I-M

To deny Western policy hasn't had a tremendous influence in the Islamic world would be akin to declaring your own stool tastes like cool and refreshing ice cream on a hot summer afternoon.

The USA is founded on the principals of liberty and self determination, but our meddeling in others affairs has run counter to these beliefs and now we're dealing with the fallout.

Certainly we've made decisions based upon our interests at the time, and I'm not placing blame nor offering an appology or compensation.

It simply is what it is.

But that doesn't mean we can't learn from past actions and mistakes. Muslims are human beings and are driven by emotions just like you and me.

For sure there are violent extremists who need to be dealt with forcefully, but if we reject outright another's behavior as simply "crazy" without any thought of our own simply because it's easier or aligns with a stereotype, the true solutions to our problems will never be found.
