luds, Ill often shake them on the surface then pull em under, they just crush the thing. Ive never had a problem casting even in heave wind/surf. And I too have caught my largest bass to date on the blurple a-salt. Never leave home with out one! (Or a few)

A Salt is my favorite for castability

any minnow plug in wind not full behind you are tough .... best for me is sidearm close to the surface wicked sharp snap cast playing the angle of the wind

Vogt gave me one of his Blurple A-salts one night, I caught so many bass in that one trip they scraped the finish off it. No exaggeration.
