Katie- if anything, learn from this experiience. Be the better person when someone harrases you and simply walk away and ignore them. Walking away will probably infuriate (sp?) them for a little bitm then they will call out or push you harder, but in the long run, they will learn that they will get no reaction from you. In the heat of the moment, it is easy to throw insults back at the person, but all you are doing is giving them what they want- 'attention'.
My dad told me this a long long time ago and i still can hear him saying it ... "keep your head down, your chin up and your nose clean..and you'll be allright"
Luckily i never got into any fights, never got suspended, etc.. and i owe it all to self control. (now if only i could control my obsessive compulsive fishing disorder
