As stated...CMS was there and I am told that Hatteras Jack had a family health emergency going on so had to cancell at the last minute.
Given that this show was put together in a 3 month time frame due to issues which arose regarding our last venue....you gotta tip your hat for the fine job MSBA did with this show in a short amount of time, never mind when you have a whole year to prepare. I gotta say I thought the venue was great, lots of places to hang out, take a load off and chat with folks....made you want to stay all day.
In regards to the turning demo as I said....with the short time frame to work with things did not work out as planned in that regard. It was hoped that the club could get that jump started late but there were a few snags and snafus...maybe it will happen again in the future.
As for a potty....there was a porto-potty in the lot....you had to have driven past it on the way in....about 50 yards from the main entrance. Rules are rules and the Gillette workers have theirs to follow.....otherwise some would take advantage as some always will.
Fishing rods??? Never saw so many leaving the show in new owners hands as I saw today!

I cannot believe the pissing and moaniing from someone who had to drive a long distance. If you read the postings on this site and on the bulletins and on the TV and from word of mouth you would have at least the intellegence to make a piss call on the way and arrive at 10 am. That would have eliminated your bitching about the waiting and the toilet availability. The porta potty was there in the lot as BF stated. The ceiling height in the front of the show was no lower than Filenes, but the lighting was poor. Guaranteed that venors will take note and provide more for their booths next show.
As far as the show goes -- I think the show was excellent. There are things to iron out as this is the first time at Gillette. BUT with the count of good customers and shoppers attending, I will bet that all vendors that were not present will be begging for space next year.
THANK YOU PATRICK AND THE MSBA FOR YOUR EXCELLENT EFFORT AND A GOOD SHOW.

Drove an hour myself and had a great time. Nice talking to Dave and Dave again, your rubba looks great along with the new plug lineup. I was able to score a RM Smith plug that I will never fish it is just to nice. The purple-black-gold scale effect is awesome. Talked with Frank D as well-great time, thanks to everyone who organized it.

Wow, I guess a guy can't even post an opinion without getting his chit jumped on Everyone is entitled to his (or her) own opinion and it should be respected even if it differs from your own...............

Mac, I don't take it personally....it IS still winter, after all! Like I said, it was my opinion. Sorry to those that feel that it is the wrong one!

Very Well Said MAC.
Just my 2 cents, but I would think that the club would be open to all input, and concerned for what folks think, and might need to be fixed.
I will be going there tommorrow, and check it out.
seems like most went today... did you MAC?

Excellent show
Agreed with many on this listing, I though Patrick and his crew did an excellent job. It's not easy to put on a show of this size and please everyone but at least the MSBA crew was able to get it going, which is 90 percent if not more, of the challenge.
The location was good, easy access and a lot of great booths, presentations and people to see and catch up with. Hats off to the MSBA crew. Thanks for an enjoyable day.

I enjoyed being in the stadium for the first time. As far as the show , the general concensus amongst the three in my car was that it was good but not that good . I never thought about the low lighting on the one side , that might have been part of it feeling subdued.
I too noticed that some of the bigger vendors were absence , don't know why. Anyway , I found the location facinating but overall the show was 50-50 IMO. Hey , first time in a new place , I'm sure they'll work the bugs out for next year.
I would think MSBA would be very interested in all opinions as oppurtunities for improvement , not as criticism , so as to make improvements if possible next year.
As always , one of the best parts of the show was seeing everyone. We all had a good time.

Thought it was great!!
Much better then years past!
First Year in new set up, they will learn and make better each year!
I got there 10:30 and there was no line waiting to get in.
Saw many from the site!!
Saw John, the booth looked great!
Saw BigFish leaving the restroom as I was going in, then he disappeared?? so never got to see him. Must have been the long ride, he had to pee so bad that he was no aware of his surroundings!!
RI Pooper and Samuai working there booth had some nice stuff!! Hope you guys made out great!
Got some stuff from Mike at M&D, his booth was cooking man!! I was passing it a little later and his wife was getting a second of rest and I said it was slowing down, and she had a THANK GOD all over her face!! Great Job Guys!!
My Daughter went with me and bought some Needle fish lures, Her first tackle purchase of her own!! and the honor goes to Salty!!
Salty was great, talked to her and told her just how to fish them, and how to use the rod! Thanks Salty!! she is all excited now!
Also got to meet Pete Santini and sat in on his show, "Boston Harbor Grand Slam" Was a great show told some good stuff!!
I just have one problem Pete, Why didn't you just give us the GPS numbers?
All and all, a great show!! and I will go again next year! I am sure they are aware of any problems and will work to fix them for next year, and if anyone has a sugestion I am sure they will listen to them all!
Someone must of had a talk with Van since last year?? I did not catch him sleeping this year! LOL
Great show guys!! Great Job!!

I have had this show date on my calendar since it was announced. Looking forward to it as much as I have been, I was not disappointed. Did I find a reel deal? No. But I got to BS with at least 40 member from this site, picked up some neccessities for the coming year, saw some great speakers, and had the opportunity to learn more from all the knowledgable people I had the chance to ask questions of. Meeting folks from here for the first time and reaquainting with others a second time is one of the primary reasons I look so forward to this event.
Got some nice plugs and rubber from sponsors and am always glad to support you guys. Made some nice additions to my arsenal and even stayed within my budget. Best score, surprisingly, was approximately 5000 yds of Yozuri Hybrid smoke colored for $15.00! Was surprised by the lack of kayak fishing related gear though. Now if I can get the call from the MSBA raffle for the VS reel, life would be gooood!
MikeP, PNG, and Specialist, thank you, you know why.
Ross
Happy 6th Birthday S-B! Nice job Boss.

I got there at 10:30 and just got home, I never went to the other show but this was by far the best show I ever went to. I never made it to the end I saw so many peolpe that I new or met for the first time I never saw the whole show. It was packed in the start of the show but thinned out at the end. I was at the raffle table for 3 hrs. at the end of the show.
