I carry a short kitchen knife on my belt. Usually add another on my calf or arm if I'm wetsuiting in rough/rocky water... the back-up is a mychelyn (spelled wrong I know) shark knife which is a small 1 piece safety knife.

Just a small rapala fillet knife on my belt on my right hip. Funny thing is when I'm jigging I use the knife all the time, cutting braid and changing frayed leaders. It's the pliers I rarely need. Thats the best thing about a jig, they pop right out....
