GAS, Gas, gas

What do you think the dock price will peak at this year??

I replaced my old merc 200 2 stroke for a brand new honda 150 four stroke but I'm still afraid of the price at the dock...

I have friends that are talking near $4.00. Many are going to switch to trailering there boat so they can gas up at the regular auto pumps. The other reason is the gas combined with the price of slips...Glad I have a small 50hp 4stroke !

I'm figuring $4 this summer. Glad I have a little 25hp, but I steal my uncles 21' steigercraft all the time and its thirsty with the 2 stroke. Usually I do the responsible thing and leave him enough gas to get to the fuel dock

They got a pickup?
Load up with jerry cans.

Cheaper than trailering.

Most marinas won't allow you to gas up with jerry cans, too dangerous!

not to mention what the enviromental police or Coasties do if they catch you spilling... Keep some dish soap near by in case you spill a little.

Also, when you have a 110 gal tank you'd need a heck of allot of jerry cans.

Might help you get caught, but all that does is make it worse.. the gas/oil sinks and cant be skimmed or soaked up off the surface, or cant evaporate... dont get caught using soap... they like that even less...

Good to know, I always kept some on my boat just in case. I though I would be doing the right thing. Thanks!

A little gas on the water is nothing. It evaporates very quickly. Ever see what really goes on around a fuel dock with the small gas powered boats? With all the splashover you'd think there would be a big slick, but there's not.

Of course, personally I've never spilled a drop, and promise to never do it again.

Best regards,
Roger

Thats alot of gerry cans for 200 gallons YIKES, its gonna suck no matter what, some of the marina's went above $4 a gallon last yr. I think it will hit that again and maybe even go higher. They just like to rob ya pocket!!!
