Perhaps, but then explain to me why Foxnews blows away all the above networks in ratings? Its because folks are looking for balance in the news, and the other side of the story, the side the mainstream media fails to report. But some folks believe everything the mainstream media reports, and dont know the other side of the issues. And that's why Foxnews is kicking ass. And yes they are! The rating dont lie!

Because NBC and ABC are center little left, and the Communist News Network is more far left, in order to have "Fair and Balanced" News, Fox needs to be so FAR right in order to create anything resembling a balance...

Skippy, do you believe everything Bill O'Riley tells you?

FOX has good ratings because A) they've spent millions to pad their lineup with allstar talent and B) they've taken the tabloid format to new sensationalistic hights...feeding their viewers "FOX NEWS ALERTS" like little pieces of rock cocaine.

It has nothing to do with balance.

Actually very sharp LOOKING I had meant .Never heard of her before I read the Nascar.com article.Its amazing how easy it is to miscontrue one's meaning by the omission of one word I should've reread my post before posting.

Anyway I digress.I was hoping people would've discussed the topic at hand which WAS NBC news' stereotyping of Nascar fans as racist hicks,Dateline's use of two muslim "looking" men who would try to get said racist hicks to harass them and lastly NBC news(Dateline) complete disregard for any type of journalistic integrity in THIS particular matter in trying to manufacture news on muslim harrassment in the US when they could not find that it was happening in the real world of reality.That's what I was hoping people would discuss.

I don't recall mentioning any other networks in my posts and I don't recall seeing mention in the above quoted articles.But somehow its
turned into "battle of the network news channels" without any mention of the actual subject at hand.

I shoulda known better.I should've posted this in the SportsTalk forum under some Nascar type title.Them myself and a few other race fans here could've screamed "Those bastards" and acvknowledged it and moved on.

Since I'll continue with my New Year's resolution of not allowing myself to become entrenched in political or religious arguments here I'll

I agree with ya. NBC is totally stereotyping nascar fans and going out of thier way to find some racist hicks. Doesnt sound like they did very well, even when going out of thier way to find them!

Ok, I actually read the story on the NASCAR site.

What NBC was doing isn't "making news" it's called investigative journalisim and it's done all the time.

Is the profiling of NASCAR fans unfair? Perhaps, but to be honest if I was looking for a negative public reaction I can't think of a better place to start

If it isn't happening in the Real World then NASCAR has nothing to worry about.

Unfortunately It DOES happen in the Real world...I know its unfortunate that they are targeting NASCAR fans to start it with but there is plenty of it going on elsewhere as well. So maybe after NASCAR they will do it at other Sporting Events, Concerts, and other Group gatherings just to add to the investigation.

What they are doing is investigating by creating environmental conditions to see what will happen....if nothing happens then they have no story, plain and simple. Sad as it is....something probably Will happen.
