rockyroady Registered User Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: North Stonington, CT Posts: 90	If you haven't done this yet and the rod you try this on happens to be an older St Croix which seem prone to this problem, keep backing off drill and be on look-out for a tan color material. It's masking tape used to space the reel seat off the blank, if you see it drill a half inch up/down reelseat.
