Eels--a bit of good news

as a kid I would catch the little 2-3 inch eels in the local brook - one at a time.

we would also catch larger eels in the same brook (but closer to the mouth) these were in the 8-10 inch length.

we would try (but never succeed) at catching the grand-daddys that hung out around the town pier. these were 2-4 foot long snakes!

As the fish have gone so have the eels.
I will have to go tromping in the brook again and see if I can find the eels again.

I was told to expect the price this season to be in the $30+/doz range.

That is getting up there.

Checked with my local shop and they are going up a dime on eels. $1.20 now I think. I think M&D's have them for $15 a dozen.
