Yes, it is lonely working with all the lures.

The famed NY photographer Diane Arbus killed herself in part because she found the art world and intellectual class to be populated by pretenders. She worked, and read, and studied, and became the real thing. She had what one biographer described as, "A rich intellectual life, and no one to share it with."

Now, I'm not going to kill myself for want of a decent conversation, but the relationships and the dialogue I shared with my colleagues when I worked outside the home were, shall we say, "less-than-rewarding."
