Maine has excellent striper fishing and a lot of big fish like the rest of the coast. I've caught fish over 40lbs on artificials there as well as big fish on live mackerel and pogies over the years. The season is not quite as long as we get, but they have great fishing along most of the coast, from York on up through the Kennebec River. As most of the spots that I fish are within an hour's drive from my house, it is an easy up and down anytime of the year. If you have questions, contact the guys up at Saco Bait and Tackle, they are straight shooters and good fishermen.
The only chance I have for stripers are in Maine. From reading your posts...........it seems you guys get bigger fish. I fish the Kennebec and Reid Park. Schoolies all day, very few big ones.

Try anywhere from Wells beach to the saco river. All along the coast there are a ton of big fish. If you don't have a boat tryu camp ellis, at the mouth of the saco or just surfcast off any of the beaches along the coast. There are a ton of islands and rocky areas that always have a ton of fish too.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
