Held my new Arra 1084 convench today......it soon will be completed! What a sweet rod this is gonna be! Burled cork grips, trigger real seat with an Abu 6500 Big Game and man o' man the fish better stear clear cause' I am going to be a fish catching machine! Whoops...... ...sorry.....got a little excited from holding my new rod! Ahhhh.....the things that excite us when fishing season cometh!
Curious if anyone else has a 1084 Arra and how they like it?

Pretty close NIB. The 1M is rated to 3 I think? The 1084 Arra is 1-4. I have the GSB 108 1L and love it! I was going to get the GSB 108 1M but my buddy showed me the Arra and I jumped at it. Great action and very light weight.

Sounds like another toy i need.
I have 2 arra's an I just love em.
They (lami) have a new line they are callin super surf.
They are the translucent light blue ones.
Some of the blanks look pretty interesting.
Been lookin around to feel some out.

I, for one, am interested in how the 1084 fishes c/w your 108 L. I, too, own the latter rod and love it. I looked seriously at the 1084 this past weekend but, with great difficulty, decided to wait. I also considered the 1083 as a needlefish/bomber rod (for which I feel the 108L is a bit slow). Does anyone have any experience with a 1083 wrapped conventional?

Sand is the key word there.
you can not compare the 1084 to a gsb blank.. Chances are if you love your gsb, your going to either really really love your 1084 or be really really disapointed. The action is toatlly different.
I snapped 3 1084's in one season a few years ago on fish.. I fish very rocky places and for the type of fishing i do, the rod could not handle it, as there is almost zero flex from the butt of the rod to the 3rd guide. Every rod snapped one foot from teh tip.
I'll take an allstar 1088 over the 1084, but thats just me

I seem to recall a few years ago the 1083 having the blank snapitis a few rods get from time to time.
The 1088 AllStar is just a fantastic blank

Yeah Eben the action is high on the rod you are correct. I have a 1083 spinning rod and it is also fantastic. The 108 1L is definitely not a needlefish rod but it would work great for bombers. I throw mostly pencils, storm shad, small tins and small swimmers with it.

I picked up a 9 ft Allstar one piece spinner from MikeCC as they were going going gone.....soon as I hefted it I knew it would be one of my favorites if not my favorite rod.
Love it

Never owned one, but, I know two guys who had snapping issues with them, a few inches down from the tip. John, I never heard that on the 1083's, just the 4's.
I'll "stick" with the 1088 and 1087 Batson's

Some builders won't touch the 1084 due to the snappage history.I fondled the allstar 1088 and found it similar to my rogue but not as fast or as equipped to handle big wood.108 3 has no business being around rocks, but you could toss it for days on the sand.I don't think it matters if it's spinning or conv. when asking for rod opinions,a blank is a blank.Lotsa nice sticks out there but you can't have em all.

Spence, context. The 1088 is agreat blank for everything but won't throw as much weight and has a slower action when compared to the Rogue 905 S.On the other hand,it's all you can do to lob an eel with this stick as opposed to the Allstar which excels at pitching snakes.

Beetle,
That is the little secret about some of these Warantees. They want you to pay to ship it back and than you pay the shipping to get it back. If it is an 11 footer forget it. Next thing you know it would have been cheaper just to buy a new blank yourself and rewrap.

That Rogue must be a pool cue then. In my opinion the All Star is a very fast blank...
