Ching-wei, Don't give up hope. I am not sure about the parking restrictions there if they really close that gate, as when I was up there you could park there in the main parking lot all night and nobody bothered us, we were fishing the beach right in front of the lot. you will have trouble fishing there during the day as the beach goers are out in full swing this time of year. It is also getting very hot out and those fish will probably be more active thru the night. As for the canoe, give it a shot, you have nothing to lose, just be careful and always wear a life jacket!!
