Would you be open to trying conventional reels and rods?

I think you might be able to get more leverage on the fish when chunking, particularly with the hookset.

I'm probably in the minority, but I don't chunk or even dunk worms with a spinner anymore. I use spinning for smaller plugs, jigs, and sometimes eels.
