Blitz

Long Island Sound in the early and mid 1970s, bluefish blitzes that stretched for miles, lasted hours and sometimes an entire day ... the kind of blitz that you could run off and do an errand and still get back to for more action ...

... what it boils down is mad hysteria where pretty much anything will work, you run out of lures, sore arms ... and when the blues are pushing the pogies into a corner, you know that big bass are lurking close at hand waiting/pushing for the scraps
