Our dryer (gas) chit the bed las week too. When we bought it 5 years ago I had "Mr Appliance" hook it up for me. I already had the old one out in the driveway and the new one in the basement 3' away from where it goes. Took him 10 minutes and cost me 150 bux. Worst part is that he told me that appliance makers only make washers and dryers to last 5 years nowadays.
Our dryer runs but has no heat. I don't think they even have pilot lites in them anymore.

A standard gas dryer will usually fail in only a few ways. It's either one of the fuses, the coil or a gas solenoid.

Most of the fuses are very simple and cheap to repair. The others cost a bit more, but it's still the min labor charge that will get ya. If you can't do it yourself, get the cheapest local repair person you can...a basic dryer is not very complicated.

Of course the new LG unit I bought last year requires a freakin PhD. Good thing we got the extended warranty.
