Probably cruising Joppa and then hit the current on the Merrimac......got spit out in the ocean just like a log ride at disney....The Merrimac is still ripping pretty good.

I'll give them credit...they did have the proper safety gear, they got a flare up to signal they were in distress

There is a large group of experianced Yakers that use the PI and Ipswitch area for their fun. I have seen them out in rougher conditions than they were in yesterday. I understand they got caught in a rip current and couldn't get free after capsizing their yaks.

I agree with Larry - they shoulda known better. That river current rivals the speed of the ditch and many underestimate its danger. Thae rip wraps right around the jetty and propels all debrie towards Ipswitch including yaks and small craft.
