one more picture. notice the room between the star drag and the bearing housing cap. Makes it real easy to oil the bearing

Nice price Mike. Is the size a step up from the 6500 C3 and do they offer a lefty model?

It is up from the 6500, a full size 7000 . At this time no left handed reels.

Holy chit about time, that thing looks sweet. Love the new handle, and the fact that it comes with a beefier drag right off the bat.

Hey Mike...I think you need a "Field Tester" for that reel

I love the handle! Really looks like a great improvement

Mike, any idea whether they'll accept ordinary 7000 series spools?

I was checking it out this morning at Mikes. He said the spool shaft is longer than the C3 shafts so they probably won't. Sweet reel for the money even if it is made in china.

Seen it today. Smooth as a baby's behind. Great reel for the money.

Mike - I saw the reel and it looks great. BUT I understand that the reel has no bearings and is made with sleeves. I also saw the other new reels and from what I was told, the reels are all with sleeves now excepting the pro rocket, which is with bearings. If this is so, i don't think that Abu has stepped forward in my opinion. has Abu updated their web site so that we can check out the spec's?

New reels only come with 1 Roller bearing and 2 bushings. That is why I have offered the ceramic bearings as an installed option. Makes the reel faster and smoother.
