Keep at it, I just started surf fishing this year. Been out every weekend from april on, I find people friendly enough to offer info.
I find at times that I don't even know what questions to ask because I'm so new, At those times I watch what other people are doing. Find people to fish with (lots on this web site) and have fun. I catch stripers every weekend and I love it, I found great fishing partners from this site (thanks guys) even if I caught zero fish each weekend I learn something new every time.
