We fished the south and west side with felt and had no problems at all, most of the guys in our party ditched the korkers by the second night, just to cumbersome. The felt gave a good purchase on the rocks and we never had any problem at all, even in a heavy sea. Like I said before, I feel Block Island is much tougher than cutty the only difference being on cutty everything is walking, If your uncomfortable and not to nimble on your feet where the korkers but, I saw no need at all for them...We had a 70 year old guy with us who had felt on and ran all over the place! I guess its experiance but again , with the limited wading korkers out there will slow you way down but by all means go with what makes you comfortable...
