I have seen a 40" fish go 29.5 pounds. I hate it when people are so quick to judge another when they post a pic of their fish with weights and lengths.
No different than humans....take 2 people that are 5'6" and one can weigh 150 pounds while the other weighs 175 pounds.....and they LOOK the same!!!!

Its a nice fish...but i have NEVER seen a fish that size go 30..ever. It could have i guess, but it doesnt look overly fat..and to be 30 it wud have to be a SLOB!
Come to thnk of it ive never seen a 42" go 30...
Regardless, like i said...Nice fish!

A 39" fish could go 30#---pre-spawn, carrying its winter fat and loaded with roe.

I've caught many 30# fish--the shortest one was 43".
