In this order -- with little thought given to your girlfriend (no offense, just thinking of fishing) Block Island, Montauk and then Key West as the third - barring any hurricane activity, if you go before mid October, you could still get good permit action out at the Marquesas and maybe even find a few baby tarpon inside the atol and possibly a bonefish or two -- but mainly a permit thing at that time.

Nantucket all the way.....There is everything you would want from great fishing for you and all the shops and scenery for her...If you don't pick Nantucket then go to the Block!! Have fun

I am always open to the islands.... That said, let me throw Hilton Head into the mix, though I'm not sure about the fishing in the fall...
