Mike- thinking about it somemore-- I have to say that my favorite conditions usually follow a hard southwest wind during the day subsiding at night. Throw in the new moon and fish are almost a sure thing, no matter what month of the season.

The fish-eye perspective

I often see bass working the edge of the white water and seldom find them right in the thick of it. More times than not they are UNDER the suds or off to the side.

They are no doubt attracted to the wash, but they tend to wait for something to get tossed their way as opposed to going into the slop to feed.

That last image looked a lot more dramatic than it really was. However, you have to be on your guard, as you boys know, several small waves and then a big surprise.
