How would you Rate July 2006 ?

You may recall, I asked the same question about June and there were a tremendous amount of dissatisfied fisherman. So, how has July 2006 treated you, so far ?

July has treated me like every other July......slow from the beach around my local haunts....just getting out and getting a few now and then suits me fine...for July....if it's like this in Sept/Oct...then I'll be pissed

Its been consistent for me. No blitzes, but steady. A dozen or so fish high teen# size through low 30# size in five nights or so along with a few twinks. All surf fishing. My brother is bailing them from the boat in RI. If the surf dies down, I may go for some of the easy ones with him.

had a coupla nice fish around the full moon earlier this month but I'd say it has been a "typical" July for me.

I did good during the full moon period in July. For me, this new moon period has been pretty much dead. It's a tough pill to swallow crusing through inshore bumpy structure with nothing happening. Like a waist land. Years previous it was on for the new moon action close to shore starting in July.

Hope for a better August.

This morning gave July a substantial boost in ranking. Three cows in three hours and home for a nap by 9:00 A.M.

Haven't gotten out that much through July but the fish I have been catching are like the ones Dave has caught, small compared to previous July's.

It's been a lot of nothing going on from the beaches of the north shore....... One fish since returning from Cuttyhunk.....

Extremely slow this year. Saved by fluke yesterday. Man, that 17.5 rec limit can be tough. And blues! they're everywhere!

Everything is better on the rocks.

I got a few 20# fish this month, but I put in a lot of hours to do it. Not completely satistied, but I am still going strong. Heading out again in the am to try it again. Not happy to hear everyone else having same results, but refreshing to think that its not necessarily my fishing skills causing my problems.

I only got out 4 times in July and never got skunked. I'd say that the first half of July was much better then the second half. Seems like the fish have disappeared from the monomoy area lately. We managed 3 keepers on saturday but with allot of effort. The water temp was anywhere from 49 - 62 as the tide pushed through. Dog fish were awfull as well.

Where are you guys getting hits? I havent gotten much up here but a few schoolies. Sucks not having a boat. Anyone have any spots that I can get to from the North End with no car? Went to my parent's house in CT and nailed a 21 lb striper and a 10 lb blue on the fly rod in the sound. Mass hasn't treated me too well though.

They have been seen feeding at the 4 point channel from the walkway.
