Went to the Air Down
Station this AM, checked the open trail map. Lost from the Lighthouse to the traps. And then a fleet of Hummers pulls in. I don't know about you but I friggin' hate those things. Gigantic wasters of resources. GD Wallet on wheels. Driven by the clueless (I was almost backed over as I read the map). Folks, if you want to drive one of the damn things, then join the Army! Man!, they really push a button deep nin my brain!

Went there this AM and the beach was open from the Lighthouse to the Traps again?? I think that they're yankin' my chain. And now today's DHummer tale; as I was leaving, I saw the top of a DHummer peaking over the hill, so I stopped next to a turnout which was to my left. The Dhummer pilot pulled up nose to nose practically with me. I pointed to the turnout and said stay to the right. Just like the highway....can't wait til September..

I HATE THEM TOO!
The H2 is the ultimate poseur vehicle. It has the chassis of a Chevy Tahoe and a body that looks like the original Hummer; i.e. it's a Chevy Tahoe in disguise.
The H2 is a gas guzzler. Because it has a gross vehicle weight rating over 8500 lbs, the US government does not require it to meet federal fuel efficiency regulations. Hummer isn't even required to publish its fuel economy (owners indicate that they get around 10 mpg for normal use). So while our brothers and sisters are off in the Middle East risking their lives to secure America's fossil fuel future, H2 drivers are pissing away our "spoils of victory" during each trip to the grocery store.
The H2 is a polluter. Based on G.M.'s optimistic claim that it gets13 mpg, an H2 will produce 3.4 metric tons of carbon emissions in a typical year, nearly double that of G.M.'s Chevrolet Malibu sedan.
The H2 is a death machine. You'd better hope that you don't collide with an H2 in your economy car. You can kiss your ass goodbye thanks to the H2's massive weight and raised bumpers. Too bad you couldn't afford an urban assault vehicle of your own. Or could you...?
The H2 is a tax loophole. Under the current tax laws, business owners can deduct nearly half the cost of their H2s. If you are in the highest tax bracket, that's a tax savings of nearly $10,000! The government rewards you more savings for buying an H2 than you'd get for buying an electric car.
So, if you see it our way, tell a Hummer owner what you think and show 'em the bird.

Your wallet’s fat, your car is rank
F$%^&* you and your H2!
Each burst of speed costs half a tank
F$%^&* you and your H2!
At each stop sign and traffic light
Regardless if it’s day or night
They’ll mutter “A$%^&*” and they’re right
F$%^&* you and your H2!
You can’t drive mud, you can’t clear rocks
F$%^&* you and your H2!
With Chevy Tahoe frame and shocks
F$%^&* you and your H2!
What illness do you suffer from?
Are your aesthetic senses numb?
How does it feel to be so dumb?
F$%^&* you and your H2!
If I gave you what you deserve
F$%^&* you and your H2!
I’d cut you off and make you swerve
F$%^&* you and your H2!
I’d follow you across the land
I’d top your gas tank off with sand
And flip the bird with my free hand
F$%^&* you and your H2!
It’s true you are the Tax-break winner
F$%^&* you and your H2!
You spent it on ‘roo-bars and Spinners
F$%^&* you and your H2!
Full fifty-grand you can omit,
But what remains to show for it?
A four-point-three-ton pile of S$%^&*.
F$%^&* you and your H2!
Despite my venomous complaint
F$%^&* you and your H2!
I’ve got an atom of restraint
F$%^&* you and your H2!
I hope this point you haven’t missed
Your car selection makes me pissed
In spite of that I can resist
F$%^&* you and your H2!
For 3 or more: the carpool lane
F$%^&* you and your H2!
But what if you have half a brain?
F$%^&* you and your H2!
You solo drive each day to work
That’s why your friends all joke and smirk
Come Humm on THIS, you F$%^&* jerk!
F$%^&* you and your H2!

I took this picture a few weeks ago waiting on bearing parts. A hummer and a bayliner. Just made me laugh.

Gawd.. double fugly...
H2, one vehicle that should never have come to be...
and the folks that buy and drive them.. well, they have been defined.
did I hear right that production of H2's was done?.. sure hope so, that is one vehicle that deserves to die... I'd rather own and drive an Edsel..
actually Edsel's were waaaaay cool compared to an H2....

The H2 Hummer is done. Less than 600 sold throughout the US last model year. The H3 is actually a great little vehicle. 8.5 inches of clearance, V6 available and from a couple people that I know that have them, reasonably affordable at 26k. They actually go well over the sand. Comparable to the X-Terra and the Toyota FJ Cruiser.
I thought Hummies (H2's) were banned from the beach? Especially after the last Hummie love in two years ago when they were kicked off by the rangers.
In the cars cartoon movie thats out now the Hummer ( with a discernable afro-american voice) says "I anin't never been offroad before" and "my rims are getting dirty" when he does. Gotta love that. It's all about the bling!

Flap, it was an H1 that was the offender at the Race.. some oil country ambassadors kids.. still got a big fine out of him, if I remember right.. H1 track is wider than other off road vehicles, so it does raise hell with the track, even if it stays on the marked trails.
H1, military vehicle, should stay that way.. H2.. many psychological reasons why folks own them... "short"changed somewhere, and trying waaay too hard to make up for it...
I too, have heard good things of the H3.. meybe the third time is the charm...

And..the jerks think that they're driving supercar. That they don't have to air down. That's how MidEast oil boy got caught, over heated his s-box while making donuts out of the trail. The Sugar bowl is fluffed up like cotton candy from this idiots. These were full sized Hummers.

Too bad you didn't run into them at night, would have been a time for subversive action. PSSSSSSSSSSSSSST, the sound of air leaving four tires at once, it can be a beautiful thing!

The H1 was a great vehicle in the sand during desert storm. You couldn't get that thing stuck trying. But it was so wide it would never be practical on the street. At least that's what we all thought during the war. Now you see soccer moms driving them everywhere.

Used to have a mud hole behind the house that ate four wheel drives for breakfest. I was looking at a H1 at the mall one of the army guys ask me if I liked the truck. I said ya but I bet I could get stuck. The army guy looked at me like I was nuts. About three months later the army reveres we camping out behind my house and didn't one of then try and make threw that hole nope he got nice and stuck. ThomT

FYI: Civilian Hummers don't have runflats or beadlocks them.
Just a friendly tip.
