Albies and Bonito from shore???

Heading to MV next week and it looks like there is the opportunity to run into some false albies and bonito from shore. I have never run into these fish and I'm clueless.
So, some quesitons...

1. What are the best lures to throw, sizes?
2. Light spinning tackle ok -10lb line, med stick? Do I need to go heavy?
3. Can you eat them?

I use yozuri crystal minnows, tied direct with a moderate retrieve. everyone always told me to burn it in, but a moderate retrieve has worked wonders for me. bonito are delicious

use sweedish pimples get the green ones. other shiny metal works well too. I use light tackle with 12# test tied direct.

vary retrieves..i usually rip em in fast..with the rod parallel to the water and snap the rod back n forth sorta like you do with sluggos.

bonito taste great..

Also try taking a tin 2-3 ounce pt.jude/ t-hex or whatever your flavor of tin is. Leave the rear hook on the tin, and take 2 feet of flouro, and run a nice sparkly fly off of that, tie it with a perfection loop so it has a good swing to it. Rip that sucker out there and retreive like you just had 19 cups of coffee
