Thats my 5 yr olds first fish caught on his own. He baited up, casted, set the hook and released it. He's reeled in some larger fish but thats his first solo catch. He says "fishins cool!".

what type of tackle setup does your son have? that's looks similar to what i use 5 yrs. old you'll have the best fishing days
ahead of ya! my son catches all the stripers!! he'll be 13 in NOV. and with me he's never been skunked he catches all the fish except the first. ENJOY!!

ShoreM, I have the perfect size push-button outfit for him, but he insisted on using my rig. I'm glad he likes the spinning outfit cause those push-button reels are garbage anyway.

When my son hooks on to a big fish, with a
big rod, I grab the back of his shirt. just in case...
